Ningbo Beilun International Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (NBCT) was jointly invested and established by Ningbo Port Group Co., Ltd. and Hutchison Port Group Co., Ltd. (Hutchison Port Group). It is the first container terminal operator and joint venture terminal of Ningbo Port.
Ningbo Port is a modern deep-water port that integrates inland ports, estuarine ports, and seaports, with supporting large, medium, and small berths. It is multifunctional and comprehensive. Ningbo Port Group has the largest iron ore, crude oil, and liquefied goods transfer base in China. It is an international first-class deep-water hub port and a container ocean trunk port, with trade and transportation exchanges with more than 600 ports in more than 100 countries and regions around the world.

The dock is located at the intersection of China's coastal areas and the Yangtze River Golden Waterway's T-shaped route, with a suitable geographical location and convenient internal and external radiation. The average depth of the entrance channel is over 30 meters, and the world's largest container ship can freely enter and exit around the clock. The dock is protected by the Zhoushan Islands as a natural barrier, with gentle winds and waves, and no freezing or siltation. There is a vast land area behind the dock, providing ample space for the distribution of goods.
NBCT is actively building a world-class container terminal with the goal of "people-oriented, customer-oriented, technology-centered, and environmentally friendly". It aims to create a "five type port" that is "innovative, quality efficient, smooth, safe, and environmentally friendly". Its unique natural conditions and well connected road and railway networks, as well as the Hangzhou Bay Cross Sea Bridge and Zhoushan Island Bridge that have been built and used, and the deep sea rail intermodal transportation have attracted major container shipping companies from around the world to conduct business. At present, it has opened up long-distance trunk lines to South America, the Middle East, Europe, North America, India, Africa, Australia and other countries and regions, as well as offshore routes to Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and other countries and regions, becoming an important link in Zhejiang Province's foreign trade window and international logistics network.

The 200000 ton ore transfer terminal in Beilun Port Area, Ningbo is located outside the mouth of Hangzhou Bay. It is currently the largest, advanced, and fully functional ore transfer terminal in China, with a project investment of 81.505 million yuan. This project extensively adopts new technologies, and the embedded stone of prestressed reinforced concrete large pipe piles is the first in China. The design of the yard is advanced, using dynamic compaction to replace stone slag to reinforce the soft foundation, saving investment of 10 million yuan, and advancing the construction period by one month. Main award-winning units: Fourth Engineering Company of the Third Navigation Engineering Bureau of China Port (Group), Third Navigation Engineering Survey and Design Institute of the Ministry of Transport, and China Water Resources and Hydropower 12th Engineering Bureau. For every vessel that stays or is about to go to sea, a comprehensive maintenance and inspection is carried out, so the industrial equipment at this dock is more commonly used.
